Comic-Con Update

Tue Jul 28, 2009, 11:52 AM
Business News
Hey everyone IM back from SDCC (San Diego Comic Con) what a weekend that is eh? I didnt exhibit yet again but that allowed me the freedom to roam about and get my stuff in front of peoples eyes. I have a few solid leads after meeting a bunch of folks. I will begin by saying I am actually at work in Activision right now so I havent quit my job. The leads arent THAT solid. I have a handful of pros and semi pros who would like to do some joint venture stuff with me. Basically I wont be paid on my first run but if I sell then it'll lead to good things i hope. Think of it as I have the go ahead to make an initiation run i suppose. exciting indeed. One of the guys I am talking to is a storyboard guy for movies another does concept art at Raven Studios and another is a NY guy interested in art trade and ad exchange. I am also being told that if I do well in my initiations they will put me in Artist's Alley next year at Comic-Con...and I would have been happy put up in the small press pavilion. Also these guys arent messing around they gave me a list of pro tools and where to get them so I can have a more professional look to my work. Working for them will be touch and go. They are doing their projects that make them money and some are having personal issues right now too. Basically I am on the back burner and will be filling tasks they give me. Eventually though I will have a complete project to hit the shelves...yes they are a distributor as well. So I dont have to worry about distribution or sales-that end is taken care of. A huge portion of the amateur fight has been lifted from my plate. The least I can do is show these guys I am for real-hmmm looks like there wont be a problem with that. If I am allowed I will post whatever they have me do.

Personal News
I'm relocating again. No not back to RI Im moving maybe 15 mins down the road? yeah. I'll be moving with Cheryl and her family into a new house either next week or the one after. So yes I am with a kind family that is allowing me a great opportunity. Again life is peaches n' Cream folks dont worry about me. Work is starting to wind down so I'll have a little more time to check back on deviant and see how you guys are doing-I miss you guys! no I really do. Keep the pencils down and your chins up.

P.S. I am no longer working on Guitar Hero Van Halen...I am now on Tony Hawk

turn and burn guys

How time Flies

Fri May 1, 2009, 8:36 AM
Hey everyone. I hope all is well and that everyone is safe and happy. I have been away for so long it actually makes me sad. We have been on constant weekend overtime for the Guitar Hero project I am on. We're working hard and having fun at the same time that isnt the problem (Plus I play on expert now while laughing and talking to people-I can kick all your asses in that game now hahaha). Problem is-my two hour commute both ways and weekend overtime translates into over 70 hours a week. Leaving just about 0 hours for any kind of art work. This is not good. Comic Con is coming soon-I have to figure something out. I should probably find a private spot on lunch to work on my ashcan. Which leads me to my other line of business. All those who were interested or at this point even remember Cheryl the Undead Gyrl-I have good news. First the name has been changed to "kHERst World" and will be put into an ashcan format. I met up with a guy in LA that does some scripting-in fact he edited the script for 'Twilight'. As far as anything I have created going into a script absolutely nothing is definite I want that to be abundantly clear. I dont give any real details of what I do but he wants to see more...he'll get more but only stuff that is legally protected. For all I know all this guy goes from creative mind to creative mind and rips them off. Remember there are no friends in showbiz. Not until the ink dries on the dotted line and the check clears hahaha. At any rate I have a bag packed-I am going to San Diego for the weekend with my woman. For those of you who have not been to san diego I have one word of advice. Go. You literally are missing out on one of the best cities in the world. Thats a statistical fact-look it up. Beaches, Sea World, The Zoo, the Gas Lamp district, night life-here I come-I need a break for a few days. Peace out ya'll no promises but I'm gonna try like hell to get some kHERst World on here as soon as I can!

Bullet point: I now work for Activision video games. Before you guys start thinking I am doing some design work and etc let me stop you. I instead will be paid to play video games...I am serious. Basically I will be part of a very small group that plays games before they are released in order to find programming errors and other stuff you dont want in a finished version. I signed my NDA today so I cant tell you guys exactly what title and etc I am working with. In fact I am not sure myself-I get assigned thursday. It's a full time position at the pacific corporate towers in Los Angeles. There is no uniform there is no dress code-there is weekends off, a pool table, ping pong table, fusbol table, and lots of donuts on mondays though hahaha. So yeah, I will get paid to play video games I so love america did I mention that? At any rate with a job pinned down I am looking at moving to Costa Mesa or the Laguna area in the future...my commute sucks hard right now clocking in at nearly 2 hours without traffic and in LA believe me there is traffic. So maybe this is the start of a career with a cool company? I hope so. As far as laying down some art in front of these folks-not just yet...gotta woo them first. In other non business related news everything is ice cream. I am having loads of fun with all of my friends here. the beaches are like on tv the mountains are awesome, the natural beauty in SoCal is unrivaled. Everything between me and Cheryl is great and we're still trying to figure out which of us is the smart one in this relationship hahaha. Everything is great gang-gonna try and get some pictures up on the other account soon. I know I have been gone for a long time so everyone please check in a drop me a quickie I was so backlogged on messages (132) that I couldnt go through them all. Life is rockin here hope it is for you too!
